The story of Christopher and Claire proves that your soul mate could be right around the corner and you might not know it—until fate steps in. As kids, the two lived down the street from each other and went to the same nursery school. They both attended Williams College. But they didn’t meet until life in the city brought them together. Mutual friends introduced them, and they began dating. Two years later Christopher proposed by the Hudson River.
Reverend Susan Cooke Kittredge officiated at the ceremony at Shelburne Farms in Vermont, where a reception followed in the Coach Barn.
The bride, daughter of John Rindlaub of Malibu, California, and Eveline Rindlaub of Natick, Massachusetts, graduated from Buckingham Browne and Nichols, Williams College and Bank Street College of Education. Claire is a teacher at Mary McDowell Friends School in Brooklyn.
The groom, son of Michael and Jane Basham of Riverside, graduated from Brunswick School and Williams College. Christopher is a vice president at AEA Investors in New York.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Mauritius and South Africa before returning home to Brooklyn.
