Katelyn Marie Todd & James Burr Hubbell

Katelyn and James met on the first day of college, where both were recruited coxswains for the Syracuse Rowing women’s and men’s teams. During their senior year, friendship turned to courtship, and the relationship continued in New York City for five years following graduation. Jamie proposed to Kate with his maternal grandmother’s ring while on a ski trip in Zermatt, Switzerland.

Reverend Ted Pardoe of St. Barnabas in Greenwich officiated at the ceremony at the Congregational Church of Nantucket and the reception followed at The Wauwinet. Special family touches were sprinkled throughout the day: The bride’s brother, Jeffrey Todd, a designer at Calvin Klein, designed and handmade Kate’s dress as well as the bow ties and cummerbunds for the groom and groomsmen, and the couple was driven from the church to the reception in the bride’s grandfather’s 1949 Ford Coupe.

The bride, daughter of Michael and Linda Todd of New York, graduated from Nichols School and Syracuse University. Katelyn works for Bloomberg in New York City.

The groom, son of Peter and Wendy Hubbell of Greenwich, graduated from Kent School and Syracuse University. James works for Pearlfisher, a brand agency in New York City.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Bora Bora before returning home to Manhattan.
