Rory and Kerry’s relationship got off to a running start after he approached her at the finish line at a Princeton track meet. The two got along swimmingly, not surprising since they’d started the year on the university swim team together. Their courtship lasted through college and time apart—a summer in Greece for her and Officer Candidate School for him. Three and a half years later, Rory asked Kerry to marry him at Jamaica Pond in Boston. The answer? An ecstatic yes!

Monsignor Detscher officiated at the ceremony at Saint Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside, and a reception followed at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.

The bride, daughter of Robert and Clare Gruendel of Riverside, graduated from Greenwich High School and Princeton University. Kerry is a graduate student at Tufts Veterinary School.

The groom, son of Christopher and Jan Loughran of Hightstown, New Jersey, graduated from The Peddie School, Princeton University and the U.S. Army’s Officer Candidate School. Rory is an officer in the U.S. Navy.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Ogunquit, Maine, then returned home to Millbury, Massachusetts.
