FAIRFIELD, CT — The annual Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival Fundraising Event “A Season to Give & Grow” will take place Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2. The event supports its 2018 Beneficiary the McGivney Community Center, 338 Stillman Street, Bridgeport, CT 06608. The McGivney Community Center, since 1992, works to fulfill its mission to provide stimulating and enriching programs which foster academic success and self-esteem to young people in Bridgeport, according to a press release.
Additionally, the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival (FCTF) will be honoring Terry O’Connor, Executive Director of the McGivney Community Center and the Cardinal Shehan Center (Saturday, Dec. 1 during the Casino Noelle Event) for his 26 years of leadership culminating during this event, his last before retirement. The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to raise vital funds and awareness benefitting area nonprofits in need. Since its inception in 1981, with a 100 percent volunteer committee and Board, the FCTF is proud to have touched the lives of thousands of neighbors raising nearly $4M donated to worthy charities.
Experience the Wonder of Christmas in the magnificently decorated Burr Homestead featuring designer decorated rooms, decorated trees and wreaths for sale, a holiday gift boutique, custom created live wreaths, photos with Santa, daily Open House shopping hours, a quilt raffle to benefit the Fairfield Museum & History Center and four fabulous special festival events: Jingle & Mingle Thursday, Nov. 29 — 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Holiday Hip Hop family fun Friday, Nov. 30 – 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by the Town Hall Tree Lighting at 7 p.m., the Casino Noelle and Festival Honoree celebration Saturday, Dec. 1 – 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and a Nutcracker “Sweet” Tea Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1 p.m, to 3 p.m. featuring a magical vignette performance of the Nutcracker by the New England Ballet Company.
