An Eye on Greenwich

We asked student photographers to show us Greenwich through their eyes. And the response was overwhelming. The following pages represent the best of the more than 200 entries we received in two age groups (8–13 and 14–18). Every entry, however, was a reminder of why we love our town. The kids’ camera lenses captured the innocence of youth, the seasoned looks of worldly adults, quiet moments of reflection, exuberant moments of joy and the peaceful scenes of our parks and beaches throughout the seasons.

We are also pleased to let you in on another first for us. This year we have partnered with Kids in Crisis. The winning photographs you see here will be featured in a 2011 wall calendar produced by and for the benefit of this amazing organization that has helped more than 100,000 children and families throughout Fairfield County. Helping kids by celebrating kids—what better way to spread the holiday spirit? The 2011 calendar ($20) will be available at McArdle’s Florist and Garden Center or directly through Kids in Crisis (visit kidsincrisis.org or call 203-324-5437) through Friday, December 24.

We would like to thank R. Van Loan Custom Framing for donating the grand prizes. Congratulations to our talented winners, and a sincere thanks to all who took the time to enter.
