New Year’s Eve magic can strike even the youngest of partygoers. When little Mary Grace’s parents brought her to a New Year’s Eve party at Wyot Woods’ parents’ house, nobody imagined that the two infants who shared a crib that night would someday become husband and wife.
Years after that initial “date” the pair became high school sweethearts and dated for ten years. When the time came to ensure they would spend every New Year’s together, Wyot proposed while on a walk at Tod’s Point. But that wasn’t the only surprise. He also planned a celebration with friends and family at Greenwich Country Club as well as a celebratory Paris weekend getaway.
Reverend Canon David Raths officiated at the ceremony at St. Peter’s Church in Bermuda. A reception followed at The Mid Ocean Club.
The bride, daughter of Paul and Caye Hicks of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Mary Grace is an EMT for Greenwich Emergency Medical Service.
The groom, son of Susanne and David Woods of Stamford, graduated from Greenwich High School and St. Lawerence University. Wyot is a Global Marco trader in Greenwich.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Dubai, South Africa and the Seychelles before returning home to Greenwich.
