More than 800 attendees turned out for the annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit at the J.P. Morgan Chase Hangar at the Westchester Airport. Together, they helped raise a record-breaking $2.6 million for the emergency response and global health organization’s work in more than ninety countries. AmeriCares Ambassador Tony Goldwyn of TV’s Scandal was the special guest, and Erica Hill, co-anchor of Weekend Today and national correspondent for NBC News, served as co-master of ceremonies. The evening culminated with eighty-nine guests boarding a place to see clinics, hospitals and community-health programs AmeriCares supports in Guatemala. The whirlwind twenty-four-hour experience gave supporters an up-close look at the impact the organization is making with its health programs in underserved communities around the world.
