Sometimes it takes a real-life Fairy Godmother to make a love connection. And in this case, Dorothy Edwards, Godmother to both Nico and Nora, was up to the task. Dorothy, who was Nico’s mom’s college roommate and Nora’s parents’ next door neighbor, knew the pair would hit it off. She spent a year encouraging them to meet since both were living in Washington, D.C., after college. It turns out Nico’s kind heart and sense of humor were a perfect match for Nora’s high-spirited nature. Just a week after the couple met, Nico got a job in Chicago. The two kept in touch and eight months later Nora moved to Chicago. Nico proposed on the shore of Lake Michigan after four-and-a-half years of dating.

Father Dale Wunderlich officiated at the ceremony at the Shrine of
St. Joseph’s in St. Louis, and a reception followed at The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s (an old chocolate factory).

The bride, daughter of Kevin and Christine Feely of West Hartford, graduated from University City High School, Clark University and is currently at student at the University of Chicago.

The groom, son of Abelardo Curdumi and Isabel Rodriguez of Old Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School, University of Michigan and is currently a student at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Nico works in advertising for Google.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Normandy and Paris before returning home to Chicago.
