They’re Here!

The Nov/Dec issues from Moffly Media are here, and we are in the holiday spirit! Each of our town pubs is a celebration of the best of the upcoming season, from holiday decorating tips from respected local pros to a spectacular Holiday Gift Guide to profiles of absolute champions of philanthropy. For our Light a Fire story, we interviewed 11 locals who have dedicated themselves to giving back to the local community. They’re driven to doing not only the right thing, but also what matters to them—helping others. We know you’re going to find their stories heartfelt and sincere, so please follow up this excellent read by coming to our virtual event: Light a Fire. It’s on December 2, and you can find details at ilovefc.com/lightafire.

We also include a lot of food coverage. We are, after all, Fairfield County — home base for a robust restaurant scene. We dip into new places to eat, from high-end cuisine to grab-and-go favorites. Of course, we didn’t overlook seasonal spirits, with tips from area experts. This is our way of reminding you that this time of year is merry, bright and worth a hearty, Cheers!

EXCERPTS FROM THE EDITORS…

Cristin Marandino: “Ever since that fateful March in 2020, so many headlines have been dominated by despair, divisiveness and disparity—making it easy to throw up our hands, retreat to the safety of our bubbles and hope for the best. Not so for the men and women we honor in ‘Cause an Effect’ (our feature on Light a Fire honorees).”

Diane Sembrot: “As for gifts, we loved stopping into shops to see what you’ll want to add to your wish list. While I could easily be a professional shopper, morning to night, some might prefer to use our gift guide as a very informed short cut to great finds. If nothing else, let it—you guessed it—inspire your ideas.”

Julee Kaplan: “What I love about this time of year, and what we do here at Moffly, is that no matter what is happening around us, we always take a moment to highlight and honor some of the most compassionate, giving people in our towns.”

Plus! Our new issue of athome in Fairfield County just landed.

Megan Gagnon: “As for the A List Awards, we handed out twenty-two trophies to a group of new and returning winners and applauded forty-six finalists for their excellent work. You can see all their projects [in the issue], in what amounts to a comprehensive guide to the best of what our design community offers. Whether you’re looking to renovate, rebuild or refresh, you’ll find plenty of ideas in our A-List section.”
